on happiness

the cherry trees in full leaf

overlooking a hundred valleys

delicately and with poise

flower petals dancing in the air

seemingly so, without a care

in moments like these

I can live my life, momentarily

with appreciation and in peace

labour for freedom

where the trees wave us goodbye

the winds coalesce into a storm

where raindrops fall on our skin

this labour for freedom

we fight for it, for our next of kin

the moon

the moon so bright

silently it floats throughout the night

battered and beaten, by millions of years

its surface chipped away

its skin eaten

imagination

we carefully craft, craft like craftsmen

devoid of duality, devoid of banality

in the depth of our imagination

in the depth of our soul

we tinker and we render

our most beautiful creation

life

a privilege and a duty

to traverse the universe

and explore its darkness

its caprice and its beauty

where to go

with nowhere in particular to go

we navigate and we wander

searching for words in a space

through the thicket of our thoughts

until we find a tiny rose garden

until we find our place

among the flowers

she lay there, among the flowers

her newborn eyes adjusting to the world

softly breathing in, breathing out

like a delicate spring rose

its leafs slowly unfolding

towards the sun, there she lay

among the flowers in repose

for the truth I yearn

looking through the mirror

at this opaque reflection

what I see, do I see me?

my honne or my tatamae

the picture is painted

a sketch fleshed out

formed by endless thoughts

opinions and weathering life

I blossom, I wither

as the years turn

a never ending search

for the truth I yearn

here I am

particles of silver dust

a warm embrace on a clear cold night

an endless sea of stars

here I am, here I stay

I look up, up to the sky

in its infinity, I am

forever part of our milky way

almond shape

ravishingly beautiful

a brisk wind

Swept across reality

There she was

amber coloured

almond shaped eyes

A heart of gold

Seeking beauty

In this world

time

the tranquility of a faint

ethereal light, finding its way

through the cracks

a house shrouded in silence

the rustling of the leafs

where time used to speed away

there is now

so much time in a day

disappear

pack your bags

a stranger has come

you take my hand in your palm

a new dawn is near

the light touch, the grip

the seasons change, it’s calm

it’s gone, the fear

Thoughts on Life

a symphony written

young, present and old

ominous and bright

a metronome, keeping note

life rushes, we are smitten

sad, joyful and mad

blink of an eye

we wake up

we live, we die
